Episode #6
Electrified :: Featuring Ambient pop rock band Monsters Build Mean Robots, electro Jazz Achilles and Brighton stowaways Flash Bang Band.

What began as a side project for members of Last days of Lorca and Court of Hidden Faces quickly turned into one of Brighton’s biggest and best Post Rock bands. Since releasing their debut album on Nice Weather For Airstrikes Records in 2007 the band have extensively toured the UK and Ireland, and are now working on the hotly anticipated, and more organic, 2nd album. MBMR have played with the likes of And So I Watch You From Afar, Staefraenn Hakon, Codes in the Clouds, Enablers and God Is An Astronaut and have evolved their sound since their debut from leftfield electronica to completely organic Post Rock singalongs.

Achilles comprise of drums, synths, guitar, sax, cello and bass and make music that sounds somewhere between post rock, jazz and electronica. Rob da Bank described us as "like DJ Shadow gone West Country", Huw Stephens went for a more concise "Very, very good". We probably prefer the latter quote.

Flash Bang Band

Flash Bang Band is a pop based band made of 3 wonky Brighton stowaways and a serial wedding singer + X-Factor accompanist formed circa 2008. Born of a marriage of frustration and blessing, they maintain an inherent cynical sense of humor and defiant optimism strewn from lives spent counting chaos amongst their friends and tempting fate a hobby.
